FIXED: A really annoying bug

Postby Dualxz on Sat Jul 11, 2009 12:47 pm

I started using Stykz 3 days ago.
Did some some animations and all.
But yersterday, I decided to do same hair to my carachters like this :
Image

But... during the framing, if I try to move the body or the neck of the stick this happens:

Image

The lines where made from the dot on the head, the actual caracther + the hair were shrinked to 30, and when I tried to move the body or the neck the hair just went mid air. That happens always when I try to draw something from the dot on the head. I really hope this bug is solved, I want to put hair without him flying away xD

Is the version you're using RC 2, Build 189 (you can see that under the Help menu -> About Stykz).

Also, the images are a little too small for me to see what's going on; can you edit your post and supply larger ones, or just crop the picture to show the problem? This would help greatly as I'm trying to get RC3 out the door and would like to see if I can get this fixed before I release it.

Yes, I'm using version 1.0 Rc2v, Build 189.
Here are the enlarged pictures:
This was how I putted them before starting to frame:

This was after I tried to move the body or neck of the of the stick:

Image

The lines supossed to be the hair, just went mid air.
I thought it happened because it was shrinked to 30, and I was right, I tried it with the default size(100) and nothing happened.
The lines making the hair come from the last dot, the head.
I tried with the arms, legs and even the head, nothing hapens, all normal, but if I try to move the body or the neck, all the lines from the dot on the head, they just go mid air.

Hope you can solve it.

Edit:: Now I'm sure, this bug only happens if the body or the neck is moved with lines placed on the dot of the head and if the stickfigure is shrinked from its default size(100), I tried with all the other parts , nothing happened.
Why the head >.<? xD

I have a solution, as this bug has bugged my bugger too. Bug. What works for me is to rotate the top head node in any direction a little bit, and it restores.

I know, but in this case, if I rotate it, does come back, but not in the same way it was, the lines just all stay on top of the head, and if I try to move it again(which is necessary for my framing), it just goes mid air again *:?* .

But ty for the help Hoboaapple =]

Thanks to the detailed report, I found the bug.

Basically what was going on was that the circle was not setting changing the internal setting that identified its "length" (the distance between the two nodes on the circle) when it scaled. So when you started to rotate the circle, the segment(s) attached to it were acting as if the circle hadn't been scaled at all.

This has been fixed for RC3, which should be out in a day or two.

So, even with both stickfigure and *hair* attached to the stick, shrinked, when I moved the body/neck, the position to where the *hair* would go was as if it would be in his default size(100)?

Thanks =]

Right. So if the head was 50 pixels wide and you shrunk the figure to 50% size, the head would *appear* to be 25 pixels wide, but when you rotated it, the attached segments would "jump" 25 more pixels up as if the head was still 50 pixels wide.
