My Experience in Using Stykz...

Postby Shinz on Fri Jun 12, 2009 8:15 am

It's definitely easier to animate using stykz because of the new features added, I also like how you can add your own buttons, It really helps a lot in animating. But right now, there's a downfall though, which makes it really really slow to animate, it's the glitches, I just don't know when they come, that's why i need to save my animation for every action, even if i press the play button, I need to say it first. Also, there are too many windows, which makes it hard to animate, but once I get used to it, I think it won't be a problem anyway. That's my experience using stykz...

Thanks for contributing, Shinz. As far as the number of windows is concerned, there's a plan to add an optional "single-window" mode to the next release after 1.0. You can see a mockup of it here.

As to the glitches... what kind are you running into? Are they error dialogs that pop up, or unexpected results?

The glitches like when i use the segment select button, then I click many times a node to move the segment but I just can't move it. Then the error would appear, the one where you write your report. Another one is, when I try to play the animation then when it already plays the animation, my CPU usage would go up to 50-60% then, I won't be able to close the window, then the unsaved part of the animation will be lost.

BTW, that's a really cool single window mode. Is there an option to place the frames at the top? >_< just like pivot. ;P

Thanks! I can probably make that accommodation. ;-)

For the glitches - it would help to get some info from you on your computer's specs (you can PM me this stuff if you like). Can you let me now what kind of PC, what flavor of Windows and how much RAM you have? That would help...

It looks so clean O____O

Seems you have plenty of RAM, might it be your CPU? What kind of CPU you got?

Whoa, That would make Stykz a lot better, IMO.
