Yeah, that would make things a lot clearer. Then you could explain everything right there.

[Shouldn't this be in forum suggestions?] ;)
Even if you have a format, people probably won't use it. They'll just submit the idea with a bunch of emotes and exclaimation marks and the next few posters will ask them to be more specific. But I have an idea  . What if, when you made a new topic in the Bugs section, a template popped up with spaces for you to fill in all those details? Then you'd HAVE to use the correct format. ;) Only problem I see is whether or not this is possible with whatever scripting language is being used here.
Currently running: Stykz Version 1.0 RC3 (194)

What would happen would be that someone would have to mini-mod (I know against the rules) the bug reports saying "please report bugs in the right format" (the words right format would be a link here.) everytime someone posted a bad bug report.
It would eventually catch on and people would understand.

Synthro and I could pay a bit more attention to the bug reports section. I'm also moving this to forum suggestions.

I like the format with a minor adjustment:

  • I'd like to add a "Category" (or "Area") to be able to know specifically what area of Stykz the problem is being reported against. Most of the time this can be picked up from the description, but sometimes it's too vague. For example "Attempting to add a figure to the Library palette fails" - Was this done by dragging a .styk from the desktop onto the Library palette? Or was it a current figure and you used the menu option? Or did you right-click on the figure and choose "Add to Library"? It would be nice not to have to "go back to the well" to get this kind of info.

Of course the *best* way to submit bugs is through Stykz itself using the "Send Feedback" option, but sometimes that just isn't appropriate.

As to how to implement this... I'll have to see if there's a way to embed this in the forums; if anyone has any ideas, let me know...

I just used the template for the insert frames bug, and it was just right. :)
