Here's what the requirements are for any of you who wish to volunteer (these are the same requirements as before):
- You need to be able to devote a good chunk of time to test (a couple hours at least)
- You need to be able to read and follow a set of testing instructions (see below)
- You need to be able to be clear and specific in any bugs you report - it will just waste time if I have to go back and forth with you in order to find out what the bug really is
- You need to promise NOT to give a copy of the pre-1.0 to anyone - it will only hurt the reputation of Stykz in the community if a 1.0 is made available before the regression bugs have been fixed.
- You need to fit one of the minimum computer spec profiles listed below (or better)
Minimum Computer Spec Profiles:
- XP Profile: Windows XP (any version), with Service Pack 3 and 1.5 GHz+ processor and 1GB+ RAM
- Vista Profile: Windows Vista (any version), with Service Pack 1 or 2, a 1.5 GHz processor, and 1GB+ RAM
- Win7 Profile: Windows 7 (any version), a 1.5 GHz+ processor, and 1GB+ RAM
- Leopard/PPC Profile: OS X 10.5.1 or higher, 1.5GHz+ PowerPC processor, 1GB+ RAM
- Leopard/Intel Profile: OS X 10.5.1 or higher, 1.5GHz+ Intel processor, 1GB+ RAM
- Show Leopard Profile: OS X 10.6 or higher, 1.5GHz+ Intel processor, 1GB+ RAM
I'd like to optimally get at least 1 volunteer for each profile (although 2 would be better). Volunteers will receive:
- A copy of Stykz 1.0 Prerelease
- A list of the feature additions, changes, and bug fixes in the 1.0 build to refer to during testing
- A set of testing instructions that will list out at a minimum what to test, what things to look for, and how to report things back
If you're interested in getting involved as 1 1.0 tester, PM me with the Profile you want to test for, your computer specs and an idea of about how much time you think you can give to Stykz testing.
Thanks!
