Buggy hidden lines.

Postby Darc on Sat Jun 06, 2009 11:01 am

Okay, so, I finally decide to open Stykz.
Now, I'm trying to make a figure, and whenever I make two hidden lines, the first hidden line becomes impossible to edit. As I try to get it working, I notice that, the first line has completely disappeared, and even though the second line is far away from the origin, I can still rotate it.
I tried it again, and the same thing happened, except this time, whenever i clicked, it would open up a box and ask me to send the error.

EDIT: Nevermind, they become editable when I switch to the select tool, then back to the subselect tool a couple of times.

EDIT 2: OKAY, when I switch from the select tool back to the subselect, everytime I click on it, the SECOND hidden line will dissappear, even though I'm still in edit mode for the figure. The second hidden line is UNEDITABLE.

EDIT 3: Okay, I don't know WHAT I did, but I managed to edit the second line.

EDIT 4: I tried to add a length 0 line to the second hidden, and now static, line and now everytime I click, it does the, "you are not permitted to do this," sound. Or on Windows Vista, it's the *ding*

I had trouble with hidden lines as well. It seems when I make another line off of a hidden one and try to edit it, it is next to impossible to sub-select without clicking it a million times.

What is your line thickness? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I did this:

1) Add a default Stykz figure to the stage.
2) Right-click and drag to add a line to the right arm.
3) Switch to :subselect: and select the line I just created, and set it to hidden.
4) Right-click and drag (still w/ :subselect: tool) from the hidden line's node to create a new line (also hidden).
5) Click some other line so the hidden lines are unselected.
6) Try to click on either of the two hidden lines.

It works fine for me... can you provide a recipe where it becomes difficult to select?

OK, if you're getting the "ding" it means that there's an error occurring... you *should* have gotten an error dialog with an offer to send the error in, but it sounds like you're not getting that. Can you send me the .stykz file so I can look at it and see what the problem is?

The line thickness was really small, around one or three.
