Gaming and Animation are my two favorite technologies, which is why I wanna develop video games, but also be an animator for it. And I won't use that cel-shading crap.
...Then again, look at how succesfull Wind Waker was...

But that's the beauty of doing games and movies is that animators often help out with the storyline so some of it will be your idea.

Right--take Edd Gould for example.
He owns the website Eddsworld, which is a website that creates Flash Animations for other's enjoyment. Edd animates AND writes most of it. He took his hobby, and made most of the UK laugh with it.
So, if you wanted to make your own TV or Web Series, you could be doing some of the animation--working with your own material for the world to see!

The point I'm trying to make is he animates for the enjoyment of others--yes, he doesn't do it for a living, but he animates for others in a way, which is what you said you didn't want to do because you'd have no freedom, correct?
It is easy to turn a hobby into a career and still enjoy it.

I know lots of people who say that once they start doing their hobby for money it becomes less fun, lots of times in the arts. Unless you're really passionate and just like making whatever, it can be a little hard.

Well of course I'm not talking from experience, I'm only 12. The closest I got to a job was when I sold home-made comics at school in 4th grade, but even THAT didn't work out well. (My teacher didn't encourage creativity or intellegence...she punished the kids in the gifted class with more work that she's not even supposed to assign...was mean to the kids...)
