The App Thread

The App Thread
This is a place to discuss apps that have come out or are coming out.
You may write reviews on your favourite apps and i will put them up here. Even if you only want to share an app it will be welcome.
So without further delay here is the list so far:

Paid apps:

Infinity Blade:

DarkFlame already has a thread about this and i don't want to discourage you from posting there.
Its got possibly the best graphics ever seen on an iphone game, even better than Id's Rage HD which hit the app store a couple of weeks before Infinity Blade. Its got great gameplay and an addictive replay factor, you find yourself in a world ruled by an Evil God King and your families arch nemesis. Walking through the castle you fight the God Kings cronies and eventually his right hand man The Dark Knight once you have passed this weaker foe its the God King who's turn it is to feel your wrath. However on your first play through it will mostly likely be the God King who ends up on top and you take the roll of your son twenty years later, these are called bloodlines and each one is harder than the one before. Here are some shots of the games quality graphics:
Image

The guy in the chair in the one below is the God king, he's level fifty there but without spoiling anything lets just say he doesn't stay that level forever.

At the moment you can pick up Infinity Blade from the App Store for $5.50/£3.50.

Eden-World Builder

Once again JonesIndiana already has a thread on this, so please visit it for more info.
This app has given me nothing but joy since downloading it, it truly brings the Minecraft classic experience to your IOS device. The game is almost a replica of Minecraft Classic and even likens itself to Minecraft, Infiminer and Blockland. In this app you can explore an infinite world, build your own city and have a little world in your pocket. You can upload your maps and download other's creations as well not only this but you can also play with the infamously fun TNT, whilst burning your surroundings to bits! I don't think any images of this app will be put up because they will probably be accused of being MC classic.
Pick up this Classic now for a reduced 59p/99 cents.

Angry Birds

You have probably heard nothing but good praise for this app and your reviews are welcome and will be put here too!
Well it took the App Store by storm upon release and has remained a top 10 spot for more than two months now, its insanely addictive and has proved a good match for even the hugely popular apps like Doodle Jump. The object of the game is to defeat the enemy green pigs by destroying their structures similar to Crush the castle, an equally popular online game. The game is frequently updated and has integrated Game Centre achievements.
Pick it up now for the affordable price of 59p/99 cents.
Here are a few snaps of the birds with their piggy foes:

Doodle Jump

Well what can I say. Its been out on the app store for the best part of a year now. The game is, as it says "Extremely Addictive" with a simple yet beautiful gameplay. Like all good apps new content is always being added like christmas specials and other stunning new themes. The game is simple, get as high as you can. There are twists and boosts that keep the gameplay fresh, not only does the screen go up with you and not let you back certain blocks explode, move or a UFO may even beam you up. Doodle jump isn't just a greatly addictive app its also a heck of a lot of fun! If you haven't got it yet, what are you waiting for?
Doodle Jump is fun, addictive and just all round brilliant but is also affordable at just 59p/99 cents.
A few Bouncing Images of the game:

Cut the rope

Cut the rope is fairly new app but its popularity has kept it in the top ten since release. The cute little monster you must feed is Hungry, but only for candy! However every bit of candy is not given to you on a silver platter. You must Cut ropes, pop bubbles and swing your way to the stomach of your hungry little friend. This original puzzle game will keep you puzzled for hours, either that or you will pull your hair out trying to work out how to feed your friend. Like its competitors Cut the rope is cheaply priced at 59p/99 cents.
A couple of pics, capturing the cutie pie in all its essence:

OmniSketch

I always find myself scouring the app store for a good art app but many are too simple or just not unique. Look no further! OmniSketch is a unique app that lets you become an artist in seconds using creative tools and brushes that make it easy to create beautiful art. Sometimes on art apps the pictures shown seem like a professional has done them, often this is the case, with omni sketch the beautiful pictures aren't so hard to replicate.
Here are a few made by the pro's straight off the online gallery:

I made a few myself:
This one is a vase:

Self explanatory:

Just some symmetry:

This is a futuristic rocket/robot thing taking off, a little abstract you could say.

Free apps:

iTunes 12 days of christmas

It was great last Christmas and should be even better this Christmas! This app lets you download free apps, music and movies for twelve days from the 26th of December to the 6th of January. Similar to FAAD (free app a day) you get one movie, app or an artists track every day for twelve days and with the lineup this Holiday season its set to be good!
This app is apples gift to you for free.

You should name it "the app thread" rather than "the stykz app thread" to avoid confusion.

I never really got into angry birds.

I agree so i edited it. Angry Birds isn't my favourite game but for a good week it gave me some enjoyment.
I am going to add Real racing 2, Shadow guardian and Nova 2 tomorrow and maybe something else.
Also as i final note if this thread gets popular i may add tips to complete games, cheats etc.

Add Aralon.
Zenonia was the first halfway-decent RPG on the AppStore. I realized recently that I've seen the evolution of iPhone games, and wow. From raging thunder 1 being the best racing game to Real Racing 2 nearly equalling console racers in some ways. Ever since I got my android, I've noticed how the android market's selection feels alot like the early app store; lots of crappy apps not worth a penny that show potential. I can't wait to watch the android market explode in my face like the iPhone app store has in the past two or three months. I think it's started, with NfS Shift finally being potted to android from iPhone. I have it on my iPod so I already know it's a great game, and definitely better than raging thunder :P
Anyway, I guess my point is that iPhone gaming really is taking a major step forward lately, and I consider my iPod touch an official gaming console in my list now. I had something else to say about android but I forgot it while typing the previous sentence...

EDIT: Oh I remembered: Emulators on the official android market FTW! I can play every FF game from 1 to 6 on my phone easily! All without jailbreaking/rooting/voiding my warranty!

Yh, the iphone app market has really advanced since the first apps, were now seeing console standards on a portable device and the competition is hotting up as developers see who can put out the best game.
I will add Arlaon but can you do a review? I haven't got the game.

I have to say real racing 2 is amazing, its so much like a console game its unreal, I have nothing but praise. Once i get a feel for the multiplayer i will post a review, I have barely touched shadow guardian yet.

I was going to download Infinity Blade, but I heard that the recent update completely ruined it... can anyone confirm?

Anywho... Sunday Lawn is a pretty fun app. :D
