The selected file is not a stykz document

Postby OmegaVitaminC on Tue Mar 02, 2010 2:31 pm

I was using stykz, and choose to export it to a 33 fps 1920x1080 quicktime movie.
It said are you sure you want to export in a larger size the the stage dimentions? the application force quit, and now when I try to open the file, it says the selected file is not a skykz document.
ive tried opening it from the desktop, and from open recent.
there seems to be a new file with the same name but with a ~ at the end in the same folder. what is it?
Is there a way to fix the file? or is it dead?

I just remembered Ive been saving backups every 15 minutes. how do I open one?

To open a backup, just find the file (it will be in your backup folder in your animations folder).
I will be using "tackle [02-18-10 19_32].stykzbak" as an example. Rename the file extension to a ".stykz" instead of a ".stykzbak". You will now be able to open "tackle [02-18-10 19_32].stykz" with Stykz.

Hopefully this will work for you. But because your origonal file is corrupted, your backup may be corrupt if it was saved from your messed up one.

Not sure what the ~ means, but I have seen it before. Changing the extension will not allow you to open it.

Animation is not the art of drawings that move but the art of movements that are drawn.

I think ~ is the temporary store file... I'm not sure, though.

I'm pretty sure the ~ thing is the temp file. Whenever my animation autosaves, a file appears on the desktop called "~(animation name here)" for a few seconds while it saves the animation.
