New Stykz Website - Looking for feedback

Postby stykzman on Mon May 17, 2010 10:33 am

As you all know, the current Stykz web site is pretty ugly and confusing to some, and has been in long need of being redone. Many months ago, I started working with venG on a new site design that would be clear and compelling, easy to navigate and would create a theme that is consistent with the splash screen of Stykz 1.0 (which the prerelease testers have already seen) and would eventually push over to the Blog and the Forums to carry a consistent style.

The plan is to put this out when 1.0 is announced, but before it is shown to the rest of the world, I'd like to get your feedback (if you have any) on the new site. I've uploaded it to a subdirectory of the main Stykz web site, and you can find it here:

New Stykz Site

The site is fully functional, the only thing to keep in mind is that the "crumb trail" that points to where you are in the site includes a "Stykz2010" level that will go away when the site is deployed.

Please post any feedback you have, pro or con, including any potential browser incompatibilities if you find them.

Thanks!

there's not much to say about it, besides the fact that it's a definite improvement.

I thought the new site could go nicely with one of these forum styles:

How would one go about using two forum styles?

in the board preferences, it would have a drop down box with the different styles in it. It's actually quite common.

are you going to incorporate the examples of works of animations done in stykz, so people can see you can obtain fine animations in stykz.

The new website looks nice.

As for the forums style, I'd rather keep the current one then change to those, but I wouldn't be really upset if it changes.
